36 Weeks Pregnant + NEW Due Date!

Hey everyone!

I'm officially 36 weeks pregnant as of today, woo hoo!

So you would THINK that I have 4 weeks left to go in my pregnancy, right?

Well...we have a PLOT TWIST 👀my due date has been moved UP!

All the details are up in the video above OR you can choose to read through the blog below.

I'm sure you all are wondering why did my due date get changed from June 18th to June 11th? So, now that I am 36 weeks I am seeing my midwife once a week until Gabrielle makes her debut. She will be checking to see if I am dilated starting next week and thereafter.

To give some background, this is my second pregnancy. When had my first child Xander in 2018, he weighed 8 lbs 10 oz. I delivered him vaginally without much issues or complications (thank you epidural!). So we know for a fact that I can deliver an 8 lb baby and it can pass through my pelvis. 2 weeks ago when I visited the perinatal OBGYN, they took final measurements of Gabrielle including approximating her weight. They believed she was weighing around 5 lb 4 oz (rough estimate) and I was only 34 weeks at the time. At the 35/36 week mark, the baby will start to gain 0.75 to 1 lb per WEEK. Therefore, she could potentially get to 9 lbs.

With that said, my midwife does not want my daughter to be bigger than Xander. To be on the safe side, my midwife wants to deliver GG a week early. The reason why is because if a baby is too big to pass through your pelvis, your chances of complications and having a C-section go up.

Makes sense to me, but it was certainly a SURPRISE!!! So I left my midwife's office super geeked up to update Jamison and both of our parents that my due date has been moved up a WHOLE WEEK to June 11th. EEEEKKKK it just got REAL, y'all.🤪

[Mind you, I have been going to my midwife appointments alone due to the quarantine since March.]

So I group texted everyone and basically said EXPECT GG TO ARRIVE AROUND JUNE 11th!!!

The plan is to get induced on June 11th but my midwife let me know that she could very well arrive prior to that and an induction may not be needed. As some of you know I was induced with Xander and it was a great experience. I actually look forward to getting induced again but you know what...I think my midwife is right I may not actually need it.

So I went from having 4 weeks left to having 3 weeks left - if not SOONER to delivering our baby girl. I am excited and nervous at the same time. It feels like time is flying by even faster now haha. Now everyday I am doing everything I can to finish up any last minute projects.

Thankfully, due to quarantine, Jamison and I made significant progress and had lots of time in our hands so we got the majority of projects done. The only thing I have left to do is make sure her car seat is installed in my car, setup Xander's toy chest, and finish packing my hospital bag. I plan on doing a quick video on what's in my hospital bag this time, so look out for that in the coming week or so (Gabrielle permitting!)

That pretty much sums up my world! Me and Xander have been cuddling and napping alot together. I've been spending as much time with him as I can as he will no longer be an only child, so it's bittersweet! Xander LOVES kids and I know he's going to be a fantastic big brother. I've seen the way he interacts with kids at MyGym and at church (he stays at home with me, not in daycare at the moment), so I know he's going to love meeting GG!

I'll keep you guys posted at least once a week until GG's debut. Thanks so much for your love and support. If there's any topic that you'd like me to blog about, let me know!

Stay safe!
